MBUSI Retirees FAQs

HOW CAN I REACH THE BENEFITS DEPARTMENT AT MBUSI?

You can reach a representative from the Benefits Department by sending an email to Retiree Benefits.  We will respond to your email within 48 to 72 hours.

I RETIRED AND I HAVEN’T RECEIVED INFORMATION ON MY BENEFITS AND HOW TO PAY YET.

It can take up to 6 weeks before you receive your information packet from Mercer. Please allow time for processing. Your active insurance will continue until the new plan is in effect.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I REACH AGE 65?

You must apply online for Medicare at Social Security-Medicare Benefits or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).  Once enrolled, Medicare will become your primary insurance.  You will receive your Mercer Marketplace 365+ Retiree enrollment information 90 days prior to your 65th birthday. Once you receive that information, please contact Mercer Marketplace 365+ Retiree at 1-855-296-2408 to set up a consultation.

I have questions about the Medicare process. Are there any resources available?

You can always visit https://www.medicare.gov/ for additional information or email 138_RetireeBenefits@mercedes-benz.com

IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME, DOES MY SPOUSE CONTINUED TO GET HEALTHCARE INSURANCE?

Yes, surviving spouses are eligible to receive healthcare insurance. Please contact Mercedes Marketplace 365+ at 1-844-287-2277 for Pre-65 retirees or Mercer Marketplace 365+ Retiree at 1-855-296-2408 for Post-65 Retirees.

IF I DECLINE MBUSI’S HEALTHCARE INSURANCE AT THE TIME OF MY RETIREMENT, CAN I TAKE IT LATER?

No, you must elect the insurance at the time you retire or you will no longer be eligible.  The only exception to this guideline is if you retiree while your spouse is still an active MBUSI Team Member, you were covered under their policy and a family status change such as divorce or your spouse is no longer employed by MBUSI; you will become eligible to enroll in the retiree healthcare insurance.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY 401(K) AFTER I RETIRE?

Voya receives notification that you retired through our weekly workflow processing.  Once Voya updates their system, you can contact them to assist you with your account.  This process could take up to 30 days from the date of your retirement. Please note that Voya will not process any disbursements until 30 days after your retirement date.  Voya can be reached at 866-339-5281 or you can access your account here.

How do I receive future notifications of rate changes or retiree information?

It is VERY important that you keep your address updated with us so that we can ensure you receive any notifications that we might send to you.  You can email updated address information to the 138_retireebenefits@mercdedes-benz.com and we will update information in our system.

Will I still be able to use Premise Health (Formerly CareHere) after I retire?

Yes, all Premise Health locations are still available for your family medical and wellness needs as long as you are enrolled in one of the Medical plans offered through Mercer (Pre and Post-65). If you do not choose one of the Mercer Medical plans, you and your family will not be able to use Premise Health. This also applies to any of the special plans offered such as Imaging, Physical Therapy, Diabetic Care, etc.

WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS FOR A LEASE VEHICLE AFTER I RETIRE?

Retirees are not eligible for lease vehicle. However, you are eligible to purchase a Mercedes vehicle at a discounted rate of 12.5%. However, due to low inventory the purchase program has been suspended.

WILL I RECEIVE MY ANNUAL TEAM SHARE BONUS IF I RETIRE DURING THE YEAR?
